Most meetings do not require supplies from home, but at each meeting we
do ask the scouts to wear a uniform and have a adult present. Children
should wear their Cub Scout shirt, pants with belt loops and shoes or
sneakers. Flip Flops and gym shorts look funny with the uniform shirt.
One
item you may need every year is a current photo of your child. This
photo will be used in a craft project. Typically these crafts are scout
or family themed, so almost any current photo will do.
As we get into the planning of meetings and projects, we may put out a call for supplies and will update this page accordingly.
Our
Pack LOVES to camp. We have 2-3 trips per year weather permitting. The
cost of Fall and Winter camp is roughly $30-$50 per scout and adult.
Summer
camp is completely different from our pack level trips. Its much more
intense than a weekend outing and runs from Thursday to Sunday in July.
This years theme is "Safari".
As Fall and Winter camp approach,
we will put out a list of supplies. For our pack level camp outing,
uniforms are not suggested. Typically, fall and winter camp trips last
three days: Friday evening, Saturday and Sunday morning.
This is a generic list of items for camping:
Sleeping bag,
Sheet for cot,
Pillow,
Flashlight and extra batteries,
One change of clothes per day,
Hiking boots,
Shoes for in the cabin,
Large bag or large backpack,
Water bottle,
2 gallons of water per camper.
We
discourage electronic devices for scouts AND adults. Electricity is
often limited and the cabins often are unlocked. Phones are welcome for
adults, but sometimes signal is hard to get.
Our camping trips
are limited to the Scout and require at least one adult guardian for
your child. There are Council sponsored family camping events every fall
and spring. Information can be found on http://www.wnyscouting.org.
