Hello Families of Pack 57

Hello Families of Pack 57!

I know that we just finished up an exciting year of Scouting and we wanted to say thank you to everyone who helped us make it great for the boys.

Although the regular scouting year is finished, we would still like to provide some opportunities to get together throughout the Spring and Summer to help keep us together as a Pack, as well as have some fun.

We would love to see a great turnout for each of these events – here’s what we have planned for June:
June Conservation Activity/Hike (Reinstein Woods) Tuesday, June 3rd - 6:30 PM
Meet at Reinstein Woods
93 Honorine Drive
Depew, NY 14043
Phone: (716) 683-5959
Fax: (716) 686-0210
Email: rwnp@gw.dec.state.ny.us

6:30 PM
Trail Tuesdays

Trail Tuesdays
Every Tuesday from April through August from 6:30 to 7:30 PM
Turn your love for the outdoors into rewarding action. Assist with projects to help maintain and improve ecosystems and trails throughout the preserve. There is something for almost every age and ability to help with! Refreshments provided. Registration required; call 716-683-5959 to sign up.
This is a great opportunity for the kids to learn about nature and give back to the community at the same time.  Bring clothes you can work in and work gloves if you have them.
Summer Camp Meeting – Tuesday, June 10th -6:30 PM
OLHC Church (Regular meeting place)
Bring a snack to pass.  Bring the kids - we will be
planning what we are going to need to bring and brainstorm some ideas on how to decorate for the theme.  The theme for camp this year is Medieval Knights.  If you are have someone coming to camp it will be important to be here.  If you aren’t coming to camp but would like to help put together ideas (and more importantly help give them some life) you are welcome to join us as well.

We have more things planned in July and August so stay tuned for additional emails and we will also be sending text reminders as we get closer to the events.

Looking forward to seeing everyone this Summer!

Youth Protection Training

This week, Edward G will be running the Youth Protection Training for our pack. This training is critical for all leaders, scouts AND parents. Please be prepared to stay for the whole meeting. If you have any questions or can't attend, please let us know.

Camping trip - Nov 8, 9, and 10.

Weather.com is predicting a 20% chance of rain on Friday, Saturday and Sunday at Camp Schoellkopf. While we might not get rained on, we may get muddy. Extra shoes or boots are a good idea. You will also need a pair shoes or sandals for inside the cabin. If your scout has allergies to certain food items, please let our Scout Leader know. We are aware of a peanut allergy. For weekend camp trips we suggest the following items: Sleeping bag, Sheet for bunk, Pillow, Flashlight and extra batteries, Pajamas, One change of clothes per day, Hiking boots, Shoes for in the cabin, Large bag or large backpack, Water bottle, 2 gallons of water per camper, Soap, Towel, Wash cloth, Toothbrush and toothpaste. A snack to pass, such as chips, cookies, etc. Remember, no peanuts. Additionally, the following items are helpful; Seasonal weather gear - Coats, hats, rain gear, boots, extra socks etc., Hand Sanitizer or wipes. Each child will need a 2 litre pop bottle for pop bottle rockets. Some extra bottle will be available. Updates will be added as needed.

Next Meeting - October 29th

Next week is the very last week to turn in Popcorn order sheets. Our next meeting is the Halloween Party. Please wear a costume and bring your siblings. I have sent out an email to collect RSVP's. We need to know the number of scouts and especially siblings. For example: 1 scout + 2 siblings or 2 scouts + 1 sibling. I am following this post with an email to all pack parents.
